Dragons youngster Tristan Sailor in police custody over allegations of sexual assault

Out-of-contract Dragons young gun Tristan Sailor is reportedly in police custody in relation to allegations of sexual assault.

Sydney Morning Herald reports a search warrant was lodged at Sailor’s Wollongong home on Saturday, where he lives with father and NRL great Wendell Sailor.

The 22-year-old was subsequently arrested in relation to a complaint by a woman that she was sexually assaulted in southern Sydney last weekend.

The NRL Integrity Unit has been alerted to the matter however are yet to release a statement.

It comes after Channel Nine’ s Danny Weidler also reported Sailor was being questioned by police earlier on Saturday morning.

Sailor’s NRL future remains up in the air after St. George Illawarra informed the talented utility back he wasn’t part of new coach Anthony Griffin’s plans in 2021.

Sailor has played five games for the Red V since making his debut late last year, but only featured twice for the club this year after falling out of favour with then-coach Paul McGregor.

It was reported the dynamic playmaker had requested a mid-season release before it was confirmed at the end of the Dragons’ campaign Sailor had been informed he wouldn’t be offered a new contract.
